Barangay Visitation ends

19 December 2009 – San Fabian. After almost seven months, and weekly visitation of the different barangays of San Fabian by the images of the Divine Mercy and the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Barangay Visitation ended today, 19 December 2009. The last barangay to hold the visitation was Barangay Nibaliw East.

On 12 December 2009, Saturday Nibaliw East held its farewell liturgy after welcoming the sacred images last 15 December 2009 from Nibaliw Center.  The images stayed in the barangay hall since the barangay has no chapel yet. The residents held a procession around the barangay on 17 December 2009.

Barangy Nibaliw Center welcomed the sacred images from Nibaliw West. The images stayed in the barangay for four days and three nights before they were finally brought to Barangay Nibaliw East, the last barangay to hold the Visitation.

The farewell mass of the Visitation in Barangay NIbaliw was held on 19 December 2009. There were 50 children who received the Sacrament of Baptism. Fr. Oliver E. Mendoza celebrated the mass and the sacrament of baptism.

The images were then brought to the Parish Church from Nibaliw East. The procession carrying the images marked the end of the Barangay Visitation.

Barangay Nibaliw Narvarte welcomes the images of the Divine Mercy and the Blessed Virgin Mary

San Fabian – 5 December 2009. The residents of Barangay Narvarte went all out in welcoming the images of the Divine Mercy and the Blessed Virgin Mary last 28 November 2009. The adult formation program was held on 3 December 2009.

The Farewell Mass held last 5 December at the yard of Casupang family was attended by an overflowing devotees. There were 16 children who received the sacrament of baptism.

Fr. Oliver E. Mendoza celebrated the mass.

A procession was held to bring the images to the next host barangay, Brgy. Nibaliw Vidal.

Barangay Poblacion holds Visitation

San Fabian – 28 November 2009. Barangay Poblacion welcomed the image of the Divine Mercy and the Blessed Virgin Mary as part of the Visitation Program of the Parish. The Visitation refers to the visit of the image of the Divine Mercy and the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary to a barangay for one week.

Barangay Poblacion, however, had their Visitation for only five days from 23-28 November. This was because the images stayed in Barangay Sagud Bahley for two more days due to the Vicariate celebration of Christ the King held last 30 November.

The Farewell Mass was held on 28 November 2009, Saturday. The Sacrament of Baptism was celebrated after the mass. A procession from Barangay Poblacion to Barangay Nibaliw Sabangan was held.

The Holy Mass was held at the Corpuz residence where the images were also kept for the nightly vigil.

Barangay Sagud Bahley celebrates Visitation

Sa Fabian – 23 November 2009. Barangay Sagud Bahley held its Barangay Visitation for nine days instead of the usual one week. The Vicariate celebration of the Solemnity of Christ the King moved the Farewell Mass from 21 November, Saturday to 23 November, Monday, a day after the Christ the King celebration.

The image of the Divine Mercy and the Blessed Virgin Mary were carried in the procession in honor of Christ the King. Thus, they had to be brought from the barangay chapel of Sagud Bahley to the parish church on 21 November.

The Farewell Mass was celebrated by Fr.Oliver E. Mendoza. There were 16 children who received the Sacrament of Baptism. The images were brought in a procession to Barangay Poblacion after the Farewell Mass.

Barangay Cayanga welcomes the Image of the Divine Mercy and the Blessed Virgin Mary

San Fabian – 14 November 2009. It is the turn of Barangay Cayanga to welcome the image of the Divine Mercy and the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary as part of the Barangay Visitation Program of the parish. Barangay Cayanga hosted the Visitation from 7 – 14 November 2009. The images were received by them from Brgy. Longos Central.

The images were carried in a procession on the first day of the visitation around the barangay. Nightly vigils were scheduled, and different groups were on hand to keep vigil.

The Adult Formation seminar was held on 13 November 2009. The Farewell Mass was held on 14 November, Saturday with Fr. Oliver E. Mendoza as the celebrant. It was held at the yard of Sis. Aurea Ballesta.

Barangay Longos Central holds Visitation

San Fabian – 7 November 2009. The waters had receded and the mud had dried, weeks after the flood of 9 October 2009 submerged Barangay Longos Central. In an expression of gratitude and hope-filled trust in God’s Mercy, the residents of Longos Central welcomed the sacred images of the Divine Mercy and the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The Adult Formation Seminar was held last 6 November from 5 pm to 9 pm; while the Youth Encounter was held from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon of the same week.

110720091841The sacred images stayed in the barangay for a week from 31 October to 7 November. The Farewell Liturgy was held after a week on 7 November 2009, Saturday. The mass was celebrated by Fr. Oliver E. Mendoza, the parish priest. A lone child received the sacrament of baptism. The participants of the Youth Encounter had their confession with Fr. Oliver.

The residents held a procession to bring the sacred images from Longos Central to Barangay Cayanga, the next host of the barangay visitation.

Longos Parac-Parac goes out for the Barangay Visitation

31 October 2009 – San Fabian. Barangay Longos Parac-Parac is the host of this week’s Barangay Visitation of the images of the Divine Mercy and the Blessed Virgin Mary. It stayed in the barangay for one week, from 24-31 October 2009. On the last day, the whole barangay went out for the farewell mass and the procession.

It was one of the biggest gatherings for the weekly Barangay Visitation. After the mass, there were 39 children who received the Sacrament of Baptism. There was one couple who received the sacrament of Matrimony.

Longos Parac-Parac has no chapel. The regular monthly mass is celebrated at the Day Care center. The barangay is considered one of the more depressed areas in San Fabian. During the last typhoon that inundated San Fabian, Longos Parac-Parac was one of the barangays that was heavily flooded.

Included in the visitation is Longos Amangunan which is a sitio of Longos Parac-Parac.

The sacred images were placed at the stage of the barangay where a makeshift shelter was built.

The procession brought the sacred images to the next barangay, Longos Central.

Longors Proper holds Barangay Visitation with a wedding

24 October 2009 – San Fabian. Brgy. Longos Proper welcomed the sacred images of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Divine Mercy for a week as part of the Barangay Visitation from 17 – 24 October 2009.

A wedding was celebrated during the farewell mass held on the last day of the visitation. There were also 12 children who received the Sacrament of Baptism.

The images were brought to Longos Parac-parac after a long procession.

Tempra-Gulig holds Barangay Visitation

5 October 2009 – San Fabian. Barangay Tempra-Guilig welcomed the sacred images of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Divine  Mercy from Brgy. Sobol last 26 September. The Visitation was to last until 3 October, Saturday. But the Typhoon Pepeng lashed out Northern Luzon, including Pangasinan last Saturday. The farewell liturgy and the transfer of the images from Bgr. Tempra-Guilig to Brgy. Lekep-Butao was thus cancelled because of the bad weather conditions.

The visitation in Brgy. Lekep-Butao was extended for another two days. The transfer of the sacred images was held on 5 October, Monday at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. Fr. Oliver E. Mendoza, the parish priest, presided over the liturgy. The sacrament of Baptism was received by 12 children after the Holy Mass.

A procession bringing the sacred images to Brgy. Lekep-Butao was held in spite of the rains.

A Youth Encounter seminar and the Adult Formation Program were held during the week-long visitation.

Brgy. Bolasi holds Barangay Visitation

12 September 2009 – San Fabian. The images of the Divine Mercy and of the Blessed Virgin Mary were welcomed by the residents of Brgy. Bolasi as part of the Barangay Visitation program of the parish. The Barangay Visitation includes the  holding the Adult Catechetical Talks and Youth Encounter. It is part of the preparation of the parish for the Vicariate III celebration of the Solemnity of Christ the King this coming 22 November 2009.

The Farewell Mass was celebrated on 12 September, the last day of the Visitation. It was celebrated by Fr. Oliver E. Mendoza, the parish priest. Sixteen children received the Sacrament of Baptism.

In spite of the heavy downpour,  a procession was held to bring the sacred images from Barangay Bolasi to Barangay Tocok, the next barangay to host the Visitation.

Aramal holds Barangay Visitation

5 September 2009 – San Fabian. Barangay Aramal welcomed the sacred images of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Divine Mercy as part of the Barangay Visitation, last 22-29 August 2009.

Adult Formation program and the Youth Encounter were held during the one-week visitation. During the last day of the visitation, the sacrament of baptism was celebrated. Sixteen children received the sacrament. Fr. Oliver E. Mendoza, the parish priest, celebrated the mass.

The sacred images were carried in a procession from Barangay Aramal to Bolasi, the next barangay to hold the Barangay Visitation. The procession lasted about one and a half hours amidst intermittent rains.

Barangay Bolasi will have its visitation from 5-12 September 2009.

Cabaruan, Angio receive the Sacred Images for the Brgy. Visitation

22 August 2009 – San Fabian. The images of the Divine Mercy and the Blessed Virgin Mary visited the barangays Cabaruan and Angio for the Barangay Visitation Program of the parish. Brgy. Cabaruan welcomed the images last 15-22 August while Brgy. Angio had their visitation from 22-29 August 2009.

The Sacrament of Baptism was received during the visitations in the two barangays. The adult formation program and the Youth Encounter were also held as part of the Visitation Program.

Rev. Fr. Abraham Esquig celebrated the mass in Brgy. Cabaruan last 22 August; Rev. Fr. Oliver E. Mendoza celebrated the mass in Brgy. Angio last 29 August.

Brgy. Anonang welcomes the sacred images

15 August 2009 – San Fabian. The sacred images of the Divine Mercy and the Blessed Virgin Mary visited Barangay Anonang for the  Barangay Visitation Program of the parish as part of its evangelization and formation program. The visitation lasts for a week in every barangay. During the week, an adult formation program and a youth encounter seminar are held.

The farewell liturgy was held on 15 August, Saturday on the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary. The mass was celebrated by Fr. Oliver E. Mendoza, the parish priest. One couple received the Sacrament of Matrimony. Sixteen children received the Sacrament of Baptism.

Despite the rains, the people held a procession to bring the sacred images from Brgy. Anonang to Brgy. Cabaruan.

Barangay Colisao welcomes the Sacred Images

8 August 2009 – San Fabian. The Barangay Formation Program and the Visitation of the Sacred Images of the Divine Mercy and the Blessed Virgin Mary were held in Barangay Colisao. Colisao is the fourteenth barangay that has undergone the visitation and formation. There are 34 barangays in San Fabian.

The visitation in Brgy. Colisao lasted for a week, from 1- 8 August. The images were all kept at the barangay chapel. They were brought out twice to visit two puroks during the week.

The Barangay Formation Program was held on 6 August 2009, Thursday. It was given by Bro. Leopoldo Manalo, Sis.  Fritzy Naravas, Sis. Violy Omiles, Sis. Betty Abrazaldo and Sis. Cita Chua. The Youth Encounter was held and facilitated by the team of the Parish Youth Apostolate.

The farewell mass was held on 8 August, Saturday at 2:00 in the afternoon. There were 11 children who received the Sacrament of Baptism. Fr. Oliver E. Mendoza, the parish priest, celebrated the mass.

A Drum and Lyre Band from Brgy. Anonang accompanied the images as they were brought to Brgy. Anonang, the next barangay to hold the visitation.

Brgy. Binday hosts “Visitation”

25 July 2009 – San Fabian. The chapel of Brgy. Binday was one of the barangay chapels destroyed by Typhoon Cosme last May 2008. This did not deter the residents of Binday to welcome the sacred images of the Divine Mercy and the Blessed Virgin Mary. It was decided among themselves that the home of Mrs. Marissa Gachallan will shelter the images. The Adult Formation Program was held in the same place.

The Youth Encounter, however, was held at the Barangay Hall.

Mass and the celebration of the sacrament of Baptism were celebrated on 25 July 2009, Saturday. The images were received by Brgy. Ambalangan Dalin from Binday in the afternoon of 25 July, Saturday.

Brgy. Visitation in Palapad

18 July 2009 – San Fabian. The heavy rains brought about by Typhoon Isang did not deter the faithful of Palapad from welcoming and showing their love and devotion to Jesus, the Divine Mercy and His mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary. In a solemn mass presided by Rev. Fr. Oliver E. Mendoza, the parish priest, the week long visitation came to an end. The celebration of the Sacrament of Baptism followed with eleven children receiving the sacrament. The visitation in Palapad was from 11-18 July 2009.

Due to the inclement weather, the Youth Encounter was postponed and re-scheduled a week later. The adult formation program however pushed through.

The faithful braved the rains as they brought the images from the chapel of Palapad while on procession to Brgy. Binday.

Brgys. Mabilao and Lipit-Tomeeng welcome the Divine Mercy and Blessed Virgin Mary images

11 July 2009 – San Fabian. Brgy. Mabilao welcomed the images of the Divine Marcy and the Blessed Virgin Mary during the week of 27 June to 4 July 2009. Brgy. Lipit-Tomeeng had their Visitation a week later, from 4 to 11 July 2009. The Visitation was highlighted by the Formation Program involving the adults on topics such as “The Family”, “Basic Doctrines” and “The Bible”. The youth had their formation during these days with the seminar on Youth Encounter.

Rev. Fr. Oliver E. Mendoza, the parish priest, celebrated the mass to culminate the visit in Mabilao while Fr. Abraham Esquig, celebrated the culminating mass in Brgy. Lipit-Tomeeng, a week later.

Barangay Visitation in Tiblong and Alacan

27 June 2009 – San Fabian. The Barangay Evangelization Program was held in Brgy. Tiblong (13-20 June) and in Brgy. Alacan (20-27 June).

The adult catechetical formation on Family Life, Basic Doctrines and the Bible was given to the residents of these barangays. The Youth Encounter (YE) was also given to the youth of the barangays. Teams 1 and 3 facilitated the adult catechetical formation.

Rev. Fr. Abraham Esquig celebrated the Eucharist at the end of the visitations in these two barangays. Fr. Abraham Esquig was once a pastor of the parish from 1981-1987. He is now a guest priest of the Parish of St. Fabian. He retired from active ministry upon reaching the age of sixty five.

Brgy. Rabon welcomes Mama Mary and the image of the Divine Mercy

13 June 2009 – San Fabian. Brgy. Rabon is the sixth barangay (out of 34 barangays)  in the Parish of St. Fabian, Pope and  Martyr, to welcome the Blessed Virgin Mary and the image of the Divine Mercy as part of the Barangay Evangelization Program of the parish. The program includes the Barangay Adult Formation Program and the Youth Encounter. The Adult Formation Program is given to the adult members of the barangay on three occasions, covering three topics on the Family, the Basic Doctrines and the Bible. The Youth Encounter is a three day program for the youth of the barangay.

The Adult Formation Program was given to Brgy. Rabon at 7PM of 10-12 June. The Youth Encounter was held from 12-14 June.

Mass, Wedding and Baptism

On 13 June, the last day of the Visitation, at 2:00 PM, a holy mass was celebrated with Fr. Oliver E. Mendoza, the parish priest, as the celebrant. Two couples received the sacrament of matrimony. The sacrament of baptism was celebrated after the mass.

Procession to Brgy. Tiblong

The images were brought to Brgy. Tiblong, the next host of the Evangelizaton Program. The residents of Brgy. Tiblong met the images at the boundary of the two barangays. A procession was held from there until the Brgy. Chapel of Tiblong. The images will stay in Brgy. Tiblong from 13 – 20 June 2009.

“The Visitation” in Brgy. Bigbiga

6 June – San Fabian. The Barangay Evangelization Program of the parish was held in Brgy. Bigbiga. The images of the Divine Mercy and the Blessed Virgin Mary were received by Brgy. Bigbiga last May 30 from Brgy. Gumot.

The images were brought to the Brgy. Hall. The adult catechism sessions last June 3-5 were all held at the Brgy. Hall. The Youth Encounter was done at the Brgy. Bigbiga Elementary School.

Team 3 of the Barangay Adult Formation Program gave the catechesis. The team is composed of Sis. Gloria Emuslan, Sis. Betty Abrazaldo, Sis. Violeta Omiles, Sis. Fritzy Narvas. Bro. Estephen Espinoza gave the catechesis on the Bible.

The Rainbow Connection

On the second day of the catechesis, after a heavy downpour which was followed immediately by the sun breaking out of the clouds, a beautiful rainbow suddenly appeared. It was a magnificent manifestation of God’s glory and presence. What made it more magnificent was the proximity of the end (or the beginning) of the rainbow to the Barangay Hall where the catechism was being held.

On June 6, Saturday, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, the Holy Mass was celebrated by Fr. Oliver E. Mendoza, the parish priest. It was preceded by a pre-Jordan talk, in preparation for the celebration of the sacrament of baptism. Bro. Tony Supremido gave the talk.

One couple, Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Balanon, received the Sacrament of Matrimony while about thirty eight children received the Sacrament of Baptism. It was a grand, fiesta-like celebration!

Farewell!

After the veneration of the images, the people of Brgy. Bigbiga bade farewell to them. They were brought to Brgy. Rabon. The people of Brgy. Rabon met the convoy brining the images at the boundary between the two barangays. After one week, the visitation in Brgy. Bigbiga came to a fruitful and meaningful close.
