"Alkansia na Pamilya para si Maria"

26 February 2012 – San Fabian, Pangasinan. The second phase of the fund raising campaign for the construction of the theology seminary was launched in the Parish of St. Fabian, Pope and Martyr today. Its theme is “Alkansia na Pamilya para si Maria.”

Mary Help of Christians Theology Seminary

The new theology seminary shall be named in honor of Mary, Help of Christians. The high school and the college seminaries in Binmaley and Bonuan Gueset, Dagupan City, respectively were all named in honor of Mary, Help of Christians. The groundbreaking ceremonies for the theology seminary were held last 16 February 2012 at Brgy. Palapad, San Fabian, Pangasinan.

Encourage the Families

The second phase of the fund raising campaign hopes to to encourage the whole family to share, especially in this time of Lent. In the prayer for the Theology Seminary, we are praying to God: “Bless our vision”. To fulfill this vision, we “promise to set aside everyday an amount for the Theology Seminary.”

An amount every morning, every day

The campaign is asking all the members of the family to “set aside everyday” an amount for the seminary. Every morning, before the start of their day, each member of the family will set aside already an amount and put these in their “Alkansia na Pamilya”. In doing so, they already know the little sacrifice that they can offer for the day for Mary, Help of Christians, the patroness of the new seminary.

The Parish is giving the ”Alkansia na Pamilya” for free, to families who want to help in the construction of the Theology Seminary. These “Alkansia na Pamilya” shall be placed on the tables in front of the church before and after the mass. Families are free to get them. The families need only to have their family names registered for monitoring purposes.

The duration of the campaign is from 26 February 2012, First Sunday of Lent, to 20 May 2012, the Sunday before Pentecost.

On the week of 20-26 May 2012, the families shall start returning their “Alkansia na Pamilya” to the parish office. On 27 May 2012, Pentecost Sunday, all the families who returned the “Alkansia na Panamilya” or who gave to the campaign will receive a “Certificate of Appreciation” signed by the Archbishop, the Vicar Forane and the Parish Priest.

“1M para kay M”

The Vicariates of the Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan have also launched the campaign called, “1M para ka M”. This is the continuation of the “Libro na Panangaro para sa Seminario”. Each of the Vicariates will raise a minimum of PhP one million (PhP 1,000,000.00)

A new notebook has been printed to succeed the “Libro na Panangaro para Seminario”. This is the “1Mpara kay M”. The new notebook has the perspective of the new seminary printed on its cover. Parishioners and donors will be asked again to sign their names and donations in the notebooks. This can be done before and after the Sunday masses. The barangay coordinators have also brought the notebooks to their barangays, asking families to sign up and share generously for the Theology Seminary.

First Phase of the Construction

Archbishop Socrates B. Villegas, in a circular letter, said that “the first phase of the construction will include two classrooms, the dining area with kitchen, seminarians’ dormitory with twenty cubicles, temporary oratory, toilets with bathrooms, three rooms for the priests, visitors’ receiving room and the corridors. This part of the seminary building will have three floor levels covering a floor area of 1,713 square meters. “

The total cost of phase one will be PhP25, 873, 213.00.

In the same letter, Archbishop Soc gave a report with regard to the ongoing fund raising campaign. He said, “As of February 15, 2012, the parishes and Catholic schools have remitted Ph P5, 342, 928. 40 to the Chancery while PhP1,842,266.00 have been donated by individual benefactors or corporations for the seminary fund. From abroad, we have total donations of US$ 1,663.00.”

He further said that “clearly, we are still a long way from our target of twenty five million pesos to complete the first phase of the construction”.
